God Box

It's an endless abyss of emotions,
a never-ending black hole.
I'll fill it with fair-weather friends,
friday night highs,
and boys that want to take you home.
I'll throw in daddy's money
and mix with a fancy car.
I'll add a perfect test scores
and continue to raise the bar.
I'll toss in vanity,
lust,
and pride in myself.
I'll fill it with gossip
and lies,
but concealed with stealth.
Then when I think it's filled to the brim,
I take a look inside and it's empty again.
I'll try the comfort of a best friend,
but nothing can fill the box made for Him.
